Cyclists leave Carlisle on Wednesday

Leading cyclists were streaming through Cumbria on Wednesday in the latest stage of a prestigious race.
The county was chosen to see off riders for the second stage of the Tour of Britain 2005.
Cyclists set off from the centre of Carlisle on Wednesday morning through the Cumbria countryside for the 160-kilometre route to Blackpool.
The stage includes three sprints in Shap, Kendal and Hornby, and two climbs at Shap Fells and Blease Hills.
The stage wais being sponsored by the North West Development Agency and the event is expected to boost the area, both economically and in terms of raising its sporting profile.
Forty young cyclists were given backstage access to the stage with the chance to have a look at the build-up to the race.
The members of two of Cumbria's cycling clubs were joined by some of those competing in this week's Star:track athletics competition.
Traffic was temporarily suspended on Castle Way around the race start.
