Vandals target parks and cemetery
Police in Derbyshire are warning residents in Amber Valley to be vigilant after a spate of vandalism.

More than 2,000 worth of damage was caused to public places after six attacks on the same day.

The attacks took place in five parks and a cemetery, where vases were broken and a headstone was pushed, council officials said.

Bowling greens, Heanor Town's pitch and Somercotes Park were damaged by stone throwing and football playing.

Crossley and Heanor parks and Alfreton Welfare Ground had rubbish dumped on them and fixtures ripped off.

Amber Valley Borough Council says it will cost around 1,300 to repair the damage at the parks.
