Police find 400,000 heroin haul
Police in south Devon have found what is thought to be their largest ever haul of heroin in the force area after searching an area of shrubland.

The heroin, which was found in Torquay and believed to have an estimated street-value of about 400,000, was discovered in a rucksack.

The rucksack was found on a housing estate in the Hele area of the town on Monday night.

Officers were searching the area after getting reports of suspicious activity.

The heroin was in four large packages stuffed into a beige and black sports rucksack.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the find but Devon and Cornwall Police said it was a "significant" discovery and the largest ever single find of illegal drugs by Devon and Cornwall Police officers working on their own.
