Peninsular Proteins said its plant suffered a pump failure

About 30 dead fish have been found in a north Devon stream next to a meat rendering plant.
Peninsular Proteins, which is based in Torrington, said a small quantity of effluent was spilled following a recent pump failure.
It added that the problem had since been rectified.
The Environment Agency said it was carrying out tests on the nearby River Torridge to see if that had been affected as well.
