The Hoe attracts thousands of tourists every year

Hundreds of thousands of pounds is to be spent on regenerating dilapidated parts of a Devon seafront.
The Hoe foreshore in Plymouth has fallen into disrepair over many years.
But Plymouth City Council has vowed to tackle the problem, splitting its plan into two phases, with phase one set to start almost immediately.
Peter Smith, the city councillor responsible for leisure matters, said people would soon see changes taking place on the Hoe.
Rebuilding pier
"This year we will be spending money doing up the lighting and railings on the Hoe, improving the flower beds, and really sprucing the whole area up," he said.
"Work will start on this part of the scheme immediately.
"Phase Two is the big one, which will involve the Tinside extension, rebuilding the pier that is falling into the sea and the boatmen's steps.
"It will cost in the region of 250,000 to 300,000, but I expect it to be next season before we get the money in place to do the work."
