Beach waters given �8.5m boost
|

Millions of pounds are being spent cleaning up South West beaches ahead of the summer.
South West Water has announced �8.5m is to go towards improving bathing water quality this year.
Ultraviolet disinfection treatment for plants is being added at Crackington Haven and Trebarwith Strand.
Work is also expected to start on a new sewage treatment plant in west Cornwall to serve the communities of Sennen and Porthcurno.
There are 144 designated bathing areas in the South West.
