Rape victim reveals ordeal

About 80% of rape victims are known to their attacker to some degree, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.

The force has launched a sexual offences awareness campaign in a bid to help reduce the number of assaults.

The week-long initiative includes a poster campaign at 50 cinemas across the force area.

It is part of a wider rape prevention campaign which will run throughout August, because police say acquaintance rape tends to rise during the summer.
