Plans unveiled for A31 road works
People are getting a chance to see plans for a major maintenance scheme for one of Dorset's main routes.

On Wednesday the Highways Agency is unveiling details of the plans to repair and improve the A31 at Corfe Mullen, near Wimborne Minster.

The proposed work, between the A350 at Roundhouse roundabout and the B3074 Blandford Road, will affect the carriageway in both directions.

Work is due to start in September and is expected to last eight weeks.

Drivers and local residents will get the benefit of a quieter noise surfacing
Peter Scott

Peter Scott, from the Highways Agency, said: "The benefits of doing this work this year are quite significant.

"Once resurfaced the road surface should last for many years.

"And drivers and local residents will get the benefit of a quieter noise surfacing."

The plans will go on display on Wednesday at Sturminster Marshall Memorial Hall.
