A worried motorist might be responsible for the theft of the sign

A road safety device may have been stolen by a motorist who thought he had been caught speeding, a council said.
The Speed Indicator Device (Sid) was stolen from Castle Lane in Okeford Fitzpaine, Dorset, last Wednesday.
Council bosses say the electronic device only records speeds and not number plates but that the theft may be the result of "mistaken identity".
"Motorists who don't understand how Sids work may think they are recording number plates," a spokesman said.
Angus Campbell, Dorset County Council's cabinet member for transport, added: "This kind of mindless vandalism directly endangers the lives of those who use our rural roads and costs us all yet more taxpayers' money."
It is not the first time a Sid has been stolen or vandalised in Dorset.
Last year, one was stolen by thieves in Three Legged Cross, near Verwood, while another unit was smashed by vandals in West Bay, Bridport.
The Sid signs flash up drivers' speeds on an electronic board, often accompanied by a smiling or frowning face.
