War veterans in Gloucestershire marked the 60th anniversary of the Arnhem campaign on Sunday.
Among them were ex-paratroopers who flew out of the former Down Ampney airfield to bring back thousands of casualties from the Netherlands.
A memorial service took place at the local church followed by a fly-past by a Dakota plane.
A tribute was paid to pilot David Lord, a member of Transport Command, who was awarded the Victoria Cross.
Arnhem was the final and most crucial phase of Operation Market Garden.
