The tree in its original state at the Robin Hill Country Park, on the Isle of Wight, prior to design work being commissioned.
Artist Paul Sivell used scaffolding to carve at the top of the tree. Park officials believe the tree carving to be the tallest in the world.
The sculptor said the designs represented a timeline detailing the history of the Isle of Wight. One of the images is a Roman officer crouching at the foot of the tree.
The tree can be seen at the Robin Hill Country Park in Downend, near Arreton.
The sculpture was commissioned as part of the country park's "Gardens in Bloom" fortnight.
The musical notes represent the island's summer festival, Bestival, which is held annually at the Robin Hill Country Park.
