All churchyards in Worcester may become alcohol-free zones following the success of a recent scheme at one church in the city.
The introduction of the ban at St John's Church, to tackle nuisance drinkers, has prompted other clergy to consider the same route.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said they are exploring the possibility of applying for a city-wide ban.
The zones have been introduced in some areas to cut crime.
