The latest sighting was reported by a security guard at the Unipart site in Evesham on Tuesday.

Police, who have taken advice from West Midlands Safari Park, said it was the third sighting on the premises.

A West Mercia force spokesman said: "Clearly, members of the community should not attempt to approach the animal if it is spotted."

'Run away'

The animal, seen at the Unipart site, in Shinehill Lane, was described as being mousey brown in colour, with pointed ears and a tufted tail, and about 4ft (1.2m) long.

As the company is based near homes, officers said residents should be aware of the reported sighting.

A spokesman said: "We are aware that there have been many, many sightings of 'large cats' in the South Worcestershire area over a long period of time without any of them being properly authenticated and are aware too that no members of the public have been injured in any way.
