Those caught fly-tipping face fines of up to 50,000

People in Hull are being warned they face fines of up to 50,000 if they dump rubbish illegally.
The city council said it was fighting a constant and escalating battle to catch the culprits of commercial and private fly-tipping and then clear up later.
In its latest crackdown, residents who report fly-tippers and help the council secure a prosecution will be given a 50 reward.
The authority said it already receives 7,000 calls about fly-tipping annually.
Pursue prosecutions
Household waste is the most common form of rubbish dumped around the city and costs the council more than 100,000 every year to clear up.
Spokesman Mark Cornall said most of it could be recycled for free through kerbside schemes or recycling facilities already provided.
"Residents and businesses have to take responsibility for the correct lawful disposal of their waste," he said.
"The authority will always pursue a prosecution where people have fly-tipped waste."
