Supporters of the restoration of a Victorian theatre in Lancashire are a step nearer to buying the building.
Friends of The Winter Gardens, in Morecambe, hope to finalise purchase of the theatre, also known as the Victoria Pavilion, next month.
The group has been raising funds to buy the theatre and campaigning to bring it back to life for nearly 20 years.
Evelyn Archer ,from the Friends, said that she "could see light at the end of the tunnel".
She added: "I'm feeling more confident than I have done for a long time. On the 6 March it's 20 years since I started up the Friends.
'Long campaign'
"I've been a founder member, and it seems as though it's been such a long campaign that I thought it was never going to happen."
The Lancashire venue closed its doors to the public in 1977.
Style guru Wayne Hemmingway, founder of clothing and shoe company Red or Dead, is patron of the Friends.
