An open day has taken place at a wind farm in Lancashire.
The event, at Scout Moor Wind Farm, Rossendale, was aimed at giving visitors an insight into how wind power works and its benefits.
Visitors were given guided tours from 1000 BST and 1400 BST and took part in a question and answer session to enable them to learn more about the process.
In the past local residents teamed up with environmentalist David Bellamy to protest against the farm being built.
Objections by the Friends of Scout and Knowl Moor included problems with increased traffic, damage to an untouched landscape and the noise of the turbines as their blades turned in the wind.
Rossendale, Rochdale and Lancashire County Councils also opposed the scheme which was given the green light in May 2005.
