Police say a project which aims to cut down on violence outside Leicester's pubs and clubs is a success.
Officers claim the Safer Routes Scheme has reduced assaults and disorder in the Churchgate area by 75%.
Four CCTV monitored zones have been created to separate revellers being picked up by bus, black cab and private hire vehicles, as part of the scheme.
Plain clothed officers are also patrolling the area to prevent unlicensed vehicles picking up fares.
Sgt Pete Williams, who designed the scheme, said: "We want people to enjoy their visits to Leicester's pubs and clubs and this scheme should help revellers by guiding them to areas where they can be picked up safely."
