Residents face park and ride woe
Park and ride
Many people living near the sites oppose the plans
Plans for a new park and ride scheme near Leicester look likely to be approved even though many people living in the area are against the move.

The scheme includes a 1000 space car park near Fosse Park with a bus service taking people into the city centre.

Some residents living in the Narborough and Blaby area have said local roads are already at saturation point.

But councillors have indicated they consider it the best way to reduce congestion in the city centre.

The results of a consultation, started in November, show 69% of the people surveyed backed the idea.

However, even if the council cabinets do give the scheme the go ahead it is likely a public inquiry will have to be held.
