County records 101 road deaths
A motorist has died following a road accident in Sleaford in Lincolnshire.

The death is the 101st fatality on the county's road in 2003.

The driver of the Vauxhall was killed after a car left Mareham Lane in Sleaford at 0830 GMT on Saturday.

It was the third car to crash in icy conditions on Mareham Lane in the space of several hours.

In a separate incident, seven people were taken to Pilgrim Hospital in Boston after a transit van left the A152 at Quadring near Spalding at 0630 GMT on Saturday.

No-one was seriously injured in the accident.

Another man is in a critical condition in hospital following an accident on Boxing Day evening when his car left the A1084 near Caistor.

He was trapped for nearly an hour before being released.
