Hundreds of soldiers have visited a Lincolnshire village to commemorate its role during a major Second World War battle.
The soldiers parachuted into Caythorpe as part of the activities on Saturday.
In 1944, soldiers at the Lincolnshire base near Grantham flew out to join the air assault into Arnhem in Holland.
Captain Jim Duncan said the celebration was especially poignant as this year is the 60th anniversary of the battle.
More than 35,000 parachutists and gliders dropped into Arnhem near the Rhine River on September 17, 18 and 19, 1944 as part of Operation Market Garden - the biggest airborne operation in history.
Next week three octogenarians will parachute into the Dutch town to mark the battle.
The three war veterans will drop 3,500 feet on the anniversary of Field Marshall Montgomery's ill-fated military operation to secure the Dutch town.
