Protesters on death crash road
bus crash
Five people were killed in the crash on Easter Sunday 2004
Residents are to gather on a Lincs road where five people died to protest against pedestrianisation.

A bus ploughed into the victims in Sea Lane in Ingoldmells outside the Fantasy Island resort on Easter Sunday 2004.

The road was temporarily cordoned off in the summer but Lincolnshire Highways is still consulting over whether to make the change permanent.

Some residents say the issue has divided the village - as many want the road reopened to improve traffic flow.

Paula and Richard Rhodes, from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Joanna Warren, from Leicester and her sons Jacob, five, and four-month-old Leyton all died in the accident.

Afterwards thousands of people signed a petition calling for improvements on the road, and Mrs Rhodes' father Neil Cooper campaigned for it to be closed.

But some local campaigners say the temporary road closure over the summer has caused further traffic problems.

The results of a consultation by Lincolnshire Highways will go before the county council in November.
