Major sewerage project for town
A large project is under way to improve the sewerage system and prevent flooding in Skegness.

Anglian Water is spending more than 1.8m upgrading the sewerage system on Roman Bank in the town.

The project will involve building a relief sewer and pumping station underneath the northern part of Skegness Junior School.

The company is also paying 10,000 towards a new IT suite at the school as part of the project.

The work will improve the sewerage system's ability to cope in cases of extreme storm conditions and help to prevent high volumes of water backing up.

This will help prevent flooding of basement flats and gardens.
