Lord's cricket pavilion and new school classrooms are among the 61 buildings and designs to make a shortlist for London's best architecture.
All the entries, including 17 private homes, are vying for the prestigious Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) Stirling Prize 2006.
More than 30 judges will visit the new projects this month and the best will be announced in June.
Last year's London winners included the Tower Hill environs scheme in the City.
Other projects include the Chelsea College of Art and Design, Crown Lane School in Streatham, south-east London, and new classrooms at Hallfield School in central London.
Evelina Children's Hospital, London's first new children's hospital for 100 years, and the Unicorn Theatre, the UK's first purpose-built professional theatre for children, also made the final 61.
One entry, the National Police Memorial on the corner of the Mall and Horse Guards Road is the work of Foster and Partners, the company behind the "Gherkin" tower and the redevelopment of Trafalgar Square.
