Trio charged over Commons protest

Three people have been charged with trespass following a rooftop protest at Parliament earlier this year.

Graham Thompson, 34, and Tamsin Omond, 23, from north London and Olivia Chessell, 20, from Cambridge, will appear in court later this month.

They are accused of climbing onto the roof of the Palace of Westminster where Parliament sits to demonstrate against the expansion of Heathrow Airport.

They will appear before the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.

The three activists, from the campaign group Plane Stupid, are further accused of unfurling banners in demonstration against the expansion of the west London airport.
