Jimmy was killed a day after his 16th birthday

A jury of eight women and four men has been sworn in at the Old Bailey to try the man accused of killing 16-year-old schoolboy Jimmy Mizen.

Jake Fahri, 19, from Lee, south-east London, is accused of killing the GCSE student at a bakery in Lee on 10 May last year, a day after his birthday.

The trial is beginning at the court on Friday afternoon and is expected to last three weeks.

Mr Fahri has pleaded not guilty to Jimmy's murder.

He watched from the dock as the panel was chosen.

Jimmy's parents, Barry and Margaret, watched from the back of the court and other members of the family from a packed public gallery.

The judge Mr Justice Calvert-Smith has agreed to a request from Jimmy's family to sit in the main part of the court during the trial.

Jimmy bled to death after being attacked while buying food in the Three Cooks bakery store with his brother Tommy.

Tommy and another brother Harry are due to give evidence on Monday.
