Detectives are searching for a missing children's hospital consultant after he was spotted at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Dr Richard Stevens had not been seen since he arrived for work at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, in Salford, Greater Manchester, in July.
The 54-year-old was captured on CCTV at the airport at 0100 BST on Thursday. His family have told police they are convinced it is him.
Dr Stevens left the airport in a platinum Hackney cab, which drove him to the Bolton Street side of Lime Street station, in the city centre.
Police said they were worried he had suffered a nervous breakdown and did not know where he lived.
Train journeys
CCTV footage showed him looking disorientated while one of the lenses in his glasses had cracked.
Dr Stevens' wife, Eirwen, said she was convinced the man on the video was her husband.
"If he is in a confused state, maybe he doesn't know what his name is."
She added: "The way he crossed his legs, the way he looked at his watch and crossed his legs.
"There's nobody else in the world who would do that the way Richard did."
Sergeant Julie Connor, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "These images suggest he is so confused he may not know who he is or that he has a family who love him and want him home.
"Richard was wearing a beige coloured coat, with black trousers and black shoes.
"One of the lenses in his glasses had cracked. He told the member of staff at the airport he was heading north.
"We would really like to hear from anyone who was in the Lime Street area in the early hours of yesterday morning and can help us establish where Richard went from there.
Mobile phone monitored
"We would also like to hear from any rail passengers who travelled through the station yesterday morning and saw a man fitting Richard's description, perhaps he got onto your train?"
Dr Stevens, of Brooklands Road, Sale, Greater Manchester, was last seen on 21 July.
He had arrived for work at 0710 BST, parked his car in the car park and left his jacket and briefcase in his office before disappearing.
Detectives have been monitoring his mobile phone and bank records.
Officers have also followed up several previous unconfirmed sightings of him including one from a woman who says she gave him a lift in Devon.
The man had told her he was heading for Lyme Regis, in Dorset.
