A university in Liverpool will turn one of its halls of residence into a swine flu recovery centre in the event of an outbreak of the virus on campus. Liverpool Hope University said it had drawn up a "major incident plan" to protect its 8,000 students. The plan includes turning one student accommodation site in Childwall into a centre to isolate sufferers. Last month, Cherie Blair was forced to pull out of a visit to the university with a suspected case of swine flu. Vice chancellor Professor Bill Chambers said as part of the plan, students living in the halls used as a treatment centre would be found alternative accommodation. He added: "We would have to negotiate with them (the students) and either move them back home or to another halls."
