Absconder accused of killing man

A 36-year-old man held in a secure unit who absconded while on a visit to a London hospital has been charged with murder in Norfolk.

Terrance O'Keefe appeared at Norwich Crown Court accused of murdering David Kemp, 73, found at his home in Malakoff Close, Great Yarmouth, in March 2008.

Mr O'Keefe had been undergoing treatment at King's College Hospital.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear again at Norwich Crown Court on 9 March.
