Court to hear birth defect claims
Families claiming mismanagement of toxic waste caused defects in their children are to take Corby Borough Council to the High Court on Thursday.

A number of babies were born in the 1990s in Corby, Northamptonshire, with deformed limbs or organs.

The 20 families claim toxic chemicals escaped into the air during a clean-up of the former British Steel works during the 1980s-1990s.

The Northamptonshire council denies liability and is defending the case.
