The design includes an avenue of trees

A 5m design by a landscape architect has won a competition to revamp Nottingham's Old Market Square.
A panel of judges chose landscape architects Gustafson Porter's design over five other competitors.
The project will include a stepped water feature, a tree-lined avenue and a ribbon of light.
Nottingham City Council said that Gustafson Porter's design impressed the judges with its simplicity and practicality.
Ribbon of light
The water terraces could be drained to allow live events in the square in a mini amphitheatre.
Lights placed above the city's tram lines would create a "ribbon" of light" effect in the winning design.
A stream run is planned down one side of the Market Square making reference to a wall which once divided the city.
