There has been an "overwhelming" response to an appeal to solve a 21-year-old murder in Nottinghamshire.
The killing of Colette Aram, 16, from Keyworth, featured on the first Crimewatch programme in 1984.
To mark the show's 20th anniversary, Colette's mother, Jacqui Kirkby, made a fresh TV appeal on Tuesday.
Detective Sergeant Chris Barnfather, who is investigating the case, said the appeal had resulted in many calls from the public.
He said: "We've had calls from prison officers from high security units, we've had calls from police officers up and down the country, hand-writing experts, ex-prisoners, members of the public generally, from Scotland to the Channel Islands.
"We've had a number with Keyworth connections, either by residency or working in the area at the time."
Colette's body was found on 31 October, 1983, in a field near her home in Keyworth.
