Road closed after propane blaze
A major road in Nottinghamshire was closed on Thursday evening after a lorry fire.

The A46 Newark bypass was shut at the junction with the A616 near Farndon after a road-marking vehicle with a large propane tank caught fire.

Three fire engines managed to put out the blaze, but it took seven hours to cool down the propane tank.

There were a number of small explosions inside the 1,400-litre tank, but no-one was injured.

The road has reopened to traffic.
