The design includes an avenue of trees

A 7m revamp of Nottingham's Old Market Square has been given the go-ahead.
The city council approved the plans, which will include water features, a tree-lined avenue and new lighting installed across the square.
It hopes the changes will make the area more suitable to host a range of entertainment and arts projects.
Proposals to remove the underground public toilets in the square are being reconsidered, however, after shoppers voiced concerns.
Work on the project is expected to start in September.
