Resident witnesses 19th car crash
Liz Fradd
The accident caused hundreds of pounds of damage
An anti-speeding campaigner in Notts is calling for action after the 19th car in 19 years smashed into her garden.

Liz Fradd, who is chair of the Tollerton Against Speeding Campaign, wants the road outside her property redesigned because of the accidents.

She was woken early on Tuesday by the latest, when a vehicle ploughed through her garden wall. The driver suffered chest injuries and ankle injuries.

The county council has pledged to install flashing speed signs.

Emergency services

It has already laid down an anti-skid surface on the 30mph stretch of road in a bid to cut down on accidents.

Ms Fradd, a nurse, supported the driver involved in the latest accident before emergency services arrived.

Scene of accident
Council chiefs have already installed an anti-skid surface
She said: "It's obviously come straight off the road, through the perimeter wall and knocked down 30ft of that.

"It's come between two fir trees and scraped them on the way through, and then skidded 55ft across the lawn up to another wall which he demolished."

Debris from the accident smashed a window in the house.

"I am angry because this happens over and over again," said Ms Fradd.

"It doesn't seem to matter how many times it happens, the council are only prepared to do something significant if people die."
