A major city centre route is due to reopen in Nottingham on Friday.
The eastbound side of Upper Parliament Street has been closed for some weeks as part of the major traffic improvement scheme, Turning Point.
However, improvements to pavements on the westbound side of the street mean the traffic there will be restricted to one lane.
Costing more than 11m, Turning Point is designed to create a city centre largely free of traffic.
It is the biggest road improvement scheme ever undertaken by the city council and is not due to be completed until the end of 2006.
