A sniffer dog has been used for the first time on Nottingham's trams and buses as part of a crackdown on drugs.
Two people were arrested on Tuesday evening during the four-hour patrol of the city.
The dog, called Bisto, searched passengers as they boarded public transport during the rush hour.
Insp Jamie Fulks, from British Transport Police, said he hoped the high-profile patrols would also prevent anti-social behaviour.
He said: "What we hope to have achieved here was high-profile policing, preventing anti-social behaviour and drug abuse but also detect people who are in illegal possession of drugs and take them before the criminal justice system."
