A46 dual carriageway plans update
Further plans have been announced to make one of Notts' busiest and most congested roads a dual carriageway.

The A46 between Newark and Widmerpool is currently single carriageway but widening could begin within five years.

The 17-mile scheme would bypass villages like East Stoke and Farndon and include improved junctions.

On Tuesday the Highways Agency revealed the route, with some changes from plans announced three years ago. The new plans go on display later this month.

The project also includes realignment of the road at Flintham which would mean the village cricket pitch would stay.
