Direct weekend train services between Nottingham and Birmingham are being restored after months of engineering work, according to Central Trains.
Buses had been used on part of the route on Sundays during the work.
Rachel Webster, Central Trains spokeswoman, said the services will be diverted via Lichfield until March so the buses will no longer be needed.
Other changes on the Nottingham to Skegness Sunday service will mean improved connections, she said.
The firm is also altering its Skegness Sunday evening service to add another stop at Netherfield in Nottingham, she said.
Central Trains managing director Steve Banaghan said: "Our passengers tell us that punctuality and reliability continue to be their top priorities."
