Plans for 7m revamp on display
A worker repairs a road
Work will be carried out overnight whenever possible
Plans for a 7m maintenance project on a busy commuter road are going on display to the public.

The Highways Agency will repair an 8km stretch of the A34 between Peartree and Weston-on-the-Green, near Oxford.

An exhibition on how the work will impact on drivers is being held on Monday at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Peartree roundabout, in Oxford.

Work will see new low-noise surfacing laid and safety fencing replaced. It is due to be completed by December.

Peter Scott, from the Highways Agency, said: "The road is in need of repairs to keep it in a safe and serviceable condition.

"To minimise the disruption to road users and local people we are taking this opportunity to carry out as much maintenance work as possible now, with a view to reducing the additional maintenance that would have been required over the next few years."
