Twin towns hold flood conference

Oxford's twin towns are attending a conference in the city to share ideas on flood risk management.

Representatives from Bonn, Leiden, Grenoble and Perm are taking part in the event at Oxford Town Hall.

The delegates will also be taken on a tour of Osney Island, which suffered in last year's floods.

Councillor Bob Price, leader of Oxford City Council, said workshops would also be held to discuss how to manage flooding risks.

"We aim to work together to develop innovative solutions that will help all areas that suffer from serious flooding," he said.

"We will discuss managing flood risk, the use of new technologies and the impact of planning policies and inter-agency working."
