850 agency jobs were cut after shift changes

A jobs fair has been held at BMW's Mini plant in Oxford to give advice to the 850 workers who lost their jobs earlier this week.
Casual staff at the Cowley site were laid off on Monday when the firm scrapped weekend shifts.
The fair was run by Oxfordshire County Council, Jobcentre Plus, the Learning and Skills Council and the South East England Development Agency.
There are also plans to set up a jobs centre in the city.
A Jobcentre Plus spokesman said: "Workers should be advised that we shall take claims from as many of them as possible on Wednesday and any others will be seen over the weekend at Oxford Jobcentre."
The plant is currently in the middle of a week-long shutdown and will not re-open until 23 February.
When work resumes, the plant will go from a three-shift to a two-shift pattern and only operate five days per week instead of seven.
