A council is investigating claims by residents in three nearby villages that swarms of flies are invading homes.
Environmental health officers are trying to find the source after complaints in Childs Ercall, Stoke Heath and Stoke-on-Tern in Shropshire.
A spokesman for North Shropshire District Council said they have asked residents to put out fly paper to identify type and quantity.
Last year flies invaded homes in two areas near Shrewsbury.
Environmental health officers will assess the evidence provided by residents and decide what action, if any, is required, a council spokesman said.
