Watchdog backs branch post office

A postal watchdog has backed a campaign to keep a Shropshire post office open.

Postwatch has written to Post Office management telling them there is no reason why the post office in Randlay, Telford, should close.

In the letter, it said that there were plans to build about 1,000 new homes in the area and has called for the decision to be reviewed.

The closure is part of national plans to reduce the UK-wide network of Post Office branches by up to 2,500.
