Council workers remove graffiti from a wall

Doncaster council workers are to give the town an early spring clean this weekend in a 48-hour blitz on litter, graffiti and vandalism.
The local authority said the move was part of its new zero tolerance attitude to anti-social behaviour.
Mayor Martin Winter said: "We want to create an environment where it is unacceptable to drop litter, spray graffiti or vandalise facilities.
"It's time to get tough on those who don't show respect for where we live."
The council said the action, which will be carried out in towns throughout the borough over the next two months, was one of the most ambitious and far-reaching local authority clean-up schemes undertaken in Yorkshire.
Mayor Winter urged the public to continue the council's work

It starts on Saturday morning, with designated teams of council staff taking to the streets of Doncaster town centre.
Similar teams will also descend on Thorne, Bawtry and Mexborough during March.
From the beginning of February, anyone found behaving in an anti-social way, such as spitting gum out on the street or fly-tipping, can expect to receive an on-the-spot fine, the council warned.
