A council has put a limit on how long memorials to car crash victims can be left by the side of roads.
The move has been made in West Sussex to "balance the need for people to have a period of grieving against very legitimate safety concerns".
Roadside tributes will now be removed 12 weeks after the date of an accident and permanent memorials will be banned.
A similar move was made in East Sussex earlier this month, but some bereaved families said it was insensitive.
Lieutenant Colonel Tex Pemberton, of West Sussex County Council, said: "This has been a very difficult and sensitive issue to resolve, and we have consulted widely.
"There is no doubt that floral tributes at the scene of an accident can be a major distraction to drivers, and we will be asking families to be aware of this as part of the new policy."
