Moves to beat show traffic chaos
Traffic jam
The moves are to stop a repeat of last year's three-hour queues
Suffolk Show organisers say the 500,000 they have spent should ensure there is no repeat of the problems that plagued last year's event.

Show-goers had to spend up to three hours in traffic queues to get into the showground.

Executive director Christopher Bushby said he was confident last year's chaos would not be repeated.

A lot had been done to improve the situation, he added.

Show organisers Suffolk Agricultural Association had spent 500,000 improving the traffic system.

"We sat down with the police and experts in traffic flow at the same time.

" We looked at all our entrances where show-goers drive in to the ground.

"We have widened the entrances so more people can drive in at the same time.

"We have also put new vehicle entrances in," he added.

The annual show - which has been in existence for 170 years - takes place on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 May.
