Tributes to cattle death victim

Friends of a woman who was trampled to death by a herd of stampeding cattle in Suffolk have paid tribute to her.

Sandra Pearce, 45, who worked as a probation officer in Lowestoft, died on farmland at country house South Elmham Hall on 27 April.

The probation service area chief officer, John Budd, said: "Sandra was a valuable, kind, popular and intelligent member of staff."

Health and safety experts and police are investigating the incident.

Mr Budd added: "Sandra was a highly skilled probation officer.

"She established very good working relationships with offenders and had a positive impact on their lives.

"She showed great integrity in her work and was regarded as highly professional by her colleagues."
