Thieves target lorries for diesel

Lorry drivers who park at the roadside to rest overnight are being warned their diesel fuel could be siphoned following three incidents in Surrey.

All the offences took place in a lay-by on St Peter's Way, in Chertsey, at the link road to the M25 at junction 11, earlier this month.

Police said the total loss was about 650 litres of diesel fuel.

Officers have urged lorry drivers to be vigilant as thieves had obviously discovered "an easy source of income".
