Plans to create a town square for Hartlepool's Headland are set to be unveiled to the public.
Detailed designs for the first phase of the project have now been prepared and will go on display so that residents can give their views.
The new square will be located in the area between Middlegate, the promenade, St Hilda's Church and Northgate.
Plans will go on display in the Croft Room of the Borough Hall on the Headland on 1 February.
They include a more detailed design for the creation of a formal square in front of the Borough Hall and a "history garden" next to it.
The town square project is spearheaded by the North Hartlepool Partnership and Hartlepool Council.
The partnership is using money from regional development agency One NorthEast to revitalise the Headland.
