Hopper is likely to be in a confused state, police say

Police have appealed for help in tracing a wallaby after it dug its way out of an enclosure in Northumberland. Hopper, a two-year-old male, escaped from the Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre near Hexham, on Sunday. Staff discovered he was on the loose after finding a damaged fence and a small hole dug at ground level. Police said the marsupial is likely to be in a confused state, but will not be a danger to the public. He is believed to be in the Kielder Forest area. Anyone who sees Hopper is asked to contact Northumbria Police.
